Andrea, Certified Veterinary Technician

Technician Supervisor

Andrea grew up in Dedham, and always knew that someday she would end up working with animals.

Andrea graduated from Mt. Ida College in 1991 where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Certified Technician (CVT) in 1998. Her career in Veterinary medicine began in the surgery department at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. After several years she realized her true passion was working in general medicine, where she could get to know both the patients and the owners. She joined a general medicine practice in 1997, and except for a brief time at Tufts Vets as an anesthesia technician, has been working in general practice ever since. Andrea joined the team at Norwood Animal Hospital in May of 2017.

During her free time Andrea enjoys training and competing in canine agility and nosework with her German Shepherd. She also shares her home with her husband, Eddie, and when not training or competing enjoys riding on his motorcycle with him and traveling.

Veterinary Technician

Her love for animals started when she was a little girl with her family dog, Bailey, who live with Samantha for almost 19 years. After several years of working in retail and being a nanny, she decided to change her career path to veterinary medicine. Samantha joined Norwood Animal Hospital in August 2016, where she was trained as a technician and assisted at the reception desk.

In her spare time she loves to travel, spend time with her significant other, her family and her rescued pup, Buffy.

Shelby knew she wanted to work with animals at very young age and was able to begin exploring this desire when she worked as a zookeeper throughout high school and college.

She graduated from Mount Ida College with a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology in 2017, and later joined the NAH team in February of 2018. Some of her personal interests include client education, dentistry, anesthesia, and nutrition.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, yoga, and spending time with her friends, family, and her rescue beagle Ellie.

Bethany

Certified Veterinary Technician

At a young age, Bethany wanted to work with animals. Throughout her childhood, she enjoyed watching Animal Planet & Discovery Channel. As her love for animals grew, she spent her teenage years volunteering at the Attleboro Animal Shelter.

Bethany attended Mount Ida College where she had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica and aid in the research and conservation of sea turtles. She graduated from Mount Ida College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology and plans to further her education in wildlife conservation.

In her spare time, Bethany enjoys traveling, reading, camping, and cuddling her pets Ollie & Stella!

Certified Veterinary Technician

Eric’s love for animals began in second grade thanks to a charismatic teacher who opened to him the world of nature and the sciences. However, after quickly realizing dinosaurs were extinct and dragons did not exist, he turned his attention to veterinary medicine.

He started working in the veterinary field during his junior year of college. In 2017 he graduated from Becker College with a Bachelors in Pre-veterinary Medicine and an Associates in Veterinary Technology. Then in the fall of 2018 he passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam and is now a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Eric joined the NAH team in February of 2019. His interests include diagnostic imaging and clinical pathology. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and spending time with his friends, family, his dog Kolby, and his leopard gecko Cornellia.

Mary

Client Services Representative Supervisor

After 13 years in banking Mary decided to change her career to animal care. She has always been an animal lover and wanted to be hands on working with them. She has previously volunteered with Animal Rescue League of Boston. Mary first started at Norwood Animal Hospital 15 years ago as a veterinary technician. Last year she transitioned to CSR Supervisor, where she greets our furry patients and assist our clients. In her spare, time she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, friends and her two cats Brewski and Mabel.

Mary is a little camera shy but wanted to share pictures of her kitties.
